This is a beautiful work that explores the many facets of early Delaware and includes gorgeous photos of various styles of homes and furnishings, as well as public buildings and spaces. Early Delaware was influenced by Swedish, Finnish and Dutch settlers. There was a strong relationship between Pennsylvania Dutch and Delaware in the early years. Early churches and schools were established and the DuPont family founded one of the earliest major industries in the United States in Delaware.

Delaware was a strong supporter of independence from Great Britain. During the Revolutionary War for Independence, Delaware was subjected to British occupation. Ultimately Delaware was the first state to ratify the new United States Constitution and become a state.

I received an ARC of this book for my voluntary honest review. There is so much information presented in this 100 page tribute to Delaware that I have already read it twice and I am certain I will continue to learn more from rereading it.
